An Office in Detroit is a shared workspace.
It's a place where you can go to do some work.
It's your office... and other people's, too.

Here's what we have...

• tables
• chairs (for sitting at said tables, or otherwise)
• alternative seating options
• wifi
• coffee making utensils
• a kitchenette for keeping some food related stuffs for refueling during work
• a machine to help with printing, scanning or copying things
• some small storage space for leaving extra-special pencils overnight

• a room for communal working
• a room for quiet working
• some private conference/meeting rooms
• bathrooms
• reserved desks
• possible 24-hour access
• things you can borrow
• possibly a sound studio room
• maybe some other good things we can think of…

Of course, we don't have space for every kind of work.

For example, we don't have a place for you to work on building a transformer (mostly cause it sounds like it would be especially dirty and noisy). You could work on the plans for the transformer, and then have a meeting here to raise funding to build your transformer, or maybe film a kickstarter video outside so you can raise the money. But then, when you have the money, you'll probably need to find another workspace for the actual building and testing phase. We hope you'll still come to visit, though, and invite us down to see your frickin' awesome transformer!

The thing is...

We're not actually open yet... but you can help with that, below

A small group of us took on the task of organizing all of the details, researching features and locations, etc, but we can't afford to open it all by ourselves.
Before we can secure a location, we need some money. What we'd like to do is have all of our future users pitch in their first month's rent, or whatever they're comfortable with, and we can use that money to rent the space and pay all the other bills we'll need to in order to open.

This picture is what we're thinking it will look like, so you can get a better idea.This was taken at The Factory, another co-working space in Grand Rapids.

In terms of cost to use the space, we're thinking:
